Michael Mills, innovator and sole proprietor of EDGE Holistic Fitness, inaugurated his career in health and fitness in 2003 at Equinox Fitness (Pasadena) where he worked as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Michael quickly developed an affinity and passion for exercise physiology through his continuing education with Equinox Fitness Training Institute, which inspired him to pursue his degree in Kinesiology at University of Southern California.

While at USC, Michael fervently researched the complexities of human metabolism, specifically focusing on the intricate metabolic pathways that influence fitness vs. fatness. His discoveries lead to a renovation of his training philosophy and practice. To this day, Michael continues to refine his holistic training repertoire through continuous research and experimentation. Scientific concepts are tested to discern efficacy, which are then distilled into practical training, nutrition, and supplementation strategies. This methodology ensures that his clients receive proven, effective training and nutrition programs based on viable scientific theories.

Ultimately, Michael has curated over 15 years of research and clinical practice into his proprietary Holistic Fitness Theory – a comprehensive system that integrates 4 essential components of fitness: exercise, nutrition, stress management, and sleep. This holistic approach is designed with to produce powerful synergy that enables clients to achieve incredible fitness and physique transformations with 3 – 4 hours of exercise per week; efficiency being the crucial driving force of long-term, sustainable improvement to health and fitness.



As a personal trainer and fitness coach, Michael is extraordinarily articulate in his coaching style. Utilizing clear and concise cues, his clients learn complex movement patterns quickly and effectively, in either a 1-on-1 or group fitness setting. His unique approach to training is especially effective in refining the intricate mechanics of: plyometrics, olympic lifting, running, and kickboxing (his personal favorite).

Michael strives to design and implement time-effective and sustainable training and nutrition programs for his clients. As such, he is a firm believer in high intensity, short duration training programs, facilitating 30- and 45-minute workouts that provide incredible benefits.
